The mission of Heartland Baptist Church is based on the “Great Commission,” given by our Lord and Savior recorded in Matthew 28:19-20:Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: (20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.Within the great Commission there are three basic directives, they are to go and preach the gospel to every nation, to baptize those who as a result of the preaching accept Christ, and then to train those who are saved and baptized into the church. To Reach Every Nation With the GospelThis Element will be accomplished by following the Acts 1:8 principle. We will seek to preach the gospel in our Jerusalem, which we consider to be the city of Perryville, Missouri. We will accomplish this goal by individually witnessing to those who we meet on the streets within our community. Next, we will reach into Judea and Samaria, which we consider to be neighboring counties in Missouri and Illinois. We will accomplish this by sending able men into the ministry with the intent of starting other local New Testament Churches. Finally, we will strive to reach the entire world with the gospel. This will be accomplished by sending and supporting missionaries to foreign fields. We will support these missionaries by instituting the “Faith Promise Missions Giving Program.”To Baptize Those Who Receive ChristAs a local New Testament Church we recognize the authority and commission that we received from the Lord th baptize those who have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. Therefore, after, and only after someone receives Christ as their personal Lord and Savior will we baptize them and accept them into the fellowship and union of our body.To Train Those Who Are Saved and BaptizedDiscipleship is to be a vital part of the ministry of the Heartland Baptist Church. After a person receives Christ and is baptized into the church, we as a body will train these individuals to go out and reach others for Christ. We will provide many opportunities through regular preaching services and Bible study hours to stimulate Spiritual growth and encourage them to reach others for Christ.
