The Will of God

John 3:15-21

" That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."

Last Sunday evening I delivered a message to the congregation of Heartland Baptist Church that I believe is very important.  The truth is God’s desire (will) for each person is good.  He is not out to get us or seeking to condemn us, 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”  And John 3:17 says, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

In the first chapter of Ephesians Paul shares that God’s will for us is good and that everything God allows or brings into our lives is good.  It was God’s will that Paul become an apostle.  God willed grace and peace to us, all blessings for us, and chose to allow us to come before Him blameless and in Love.  God willed our adoption into the family of God and made us accepted.  He chose to redeem and forgive us and cause his blessings to abound toward us.  God willed that in the future (in the fullness of time) that we come before him to receive an inheritance.  God’s will toward us is very good.

Listen to the full message and understand that there is only one thing that can cut off the goodness of God’s will your life.
